Sign in to your It's My Life on a desktop or laptop, not a phone or tablet.
Unzip the file and double-click viewer.html. It opens looking just like your It's My Life, read-only. No internet and no login are needed.
Music files are not saved in a backup (song titles are listed). Your Privacy PIN is not saved either, so after a restore go to Settings and set a new PIN.
That's up to you. Many people add a lot when they first start, catching up on years of memories. If that's you, you may want to make a backup sooner, once you've added a good amount. After that, a backup every six months or so is plenty. Settings shows how much you've added since your last backup.
Keep this page open until the file has finished saving. A large collection of photos can take a few minutes. Making a backup needs an internet connection.
Music files and your Privacy PIN are not part of a backup. Go to Settings and set a new PIN to lock your private memories again.

This permanently erases everything in your life story — every memory, every photo, your family tree, and your music. It cannot be undone, and no one can bring it back.
Deleting your account will also cancel your subscription. Please note that no refund is available for the unused part of your subscription, and your access will end right away.
Want to keep a copy first? You can make a backup from a desktop or laptop before you delete. Once you delete, nothing can be recovered.
